Description
I don’t have to be in the woods to be thinking of trees. If I see something tree related in day-to-day life then I gravitate towards it to satisfy my curiosity. Perhaps it will be a piece of pottery in a small crafts fair, or a non-native species of tree in a specialist garden centre will pique my interest. It was in early December 2022 that I saw the Wishing Tree at Blenheim Palace – a fake illuminated tree that visitors tied ribbons to and made a Christmas wish. Later than month I was fortunate enough to photograph this enchanting birch with its delicate drapes of frosted branches which reminded me of the ribbons on The Wishing Tree.
