Monday 9th – Thursday 12th November 2026 – North York Moors
With beautiful scenes of contrasting colour, texture and exposed mossy limbs, late autumn is one of the most magical seasons for photographing woodland. Early November is great for rusty understories, emerging forms, and species such as the majestic oak. You’ll immerse ourselves in the tranquillity and character of the very same woodlands that have shaped Simon’s photography for more than 10 years.
Simon’s passionate delivery of his knowledge will give you the confidence to explore and capture woodland with your own unique vision; leaving you inspired and excited for the rest of autumn and seasons beyond.
With a small group of only 4 participants, you’ll have plenty of time to discuss composition, thought process, and visualising through connection. The 3 days will leave you feeling enriched with a fresh perspective on photography and woodland.

"If you are looking to improve your woodland photography, no matter how good you are, I would highly recommend a workshop with Simon. He really is that good."
Join Simon in the North York Moors where you’ll spend 3 days diving into all things woodland. Simon is committed to creating an enjoyable and inspirational experience in which you can relax, eat well, and make beautiful photographs.
Excludes: Insurance, travel to the accommodation, and drinks.

There are a lot of folk out there that can take great photos, finding someone that can express their creative process in such a clear and effective manner is a much rarer feat, Simon has that skill! A wonderful workshop leaving me buzzing with encouragement to look through my lens in a different light.
You’ll be based at a superb country house in the south west of the national park. The location offers a terrific base from which to explore the North York Moors and somewhere comfortable and welcoming for breakfast, post-processing and your evening meals.
With exclusive use of the house, you’re free to make use of the kitchen, relax in the lounge, or rest in your spacious and comfortable room.

Although you won’t be walking long distances, having a good level of fitness will be an advantage on this workshop. You’ll be walking off the beaten paths, and sometimes on rough terrain. The ground could be loose, boggy or steep. If you are of ill health or suffer any physical ailments, this is probably not the right workshop for you. If in doubt, please get in touch. This workshop caters for photographers of all skill levels and experience but, to get the most out of the week, you will ideally be comfortable with the technical use of your camera.

I cannot think of a better and more passionate individual than Simon who has a great personality. Anyone who is looking to go and learn more about woodland photography, you must book with Simon. You will leave with confidence and a fresh outlook on this special area of photography.
