Nunnington Hall presents ‘All the Wood’s a Stage’, a stunning exhibition created in collaboration with renowned photographers Simon Baxter and Joe Cornish. A continuation of the 2022 showcase ‘Woodland Sanctuary’, originally exhibited at the Moors Centre in Danby, this new chapter features new photographs that celebrate the beauty and vital significance of trees, woodlands, and forests across the UK.

It invites us to see trees as silent performers on nature’s stage – inviting us to observe, listen, and reflect. Trees provide joy, peace, and inspiration; they are the lungs of the Earth, guardians of biodiversity, and a crucial part of our mental and physical well-being. Through changing seasons, they symbolise life, death, and renewal. This exhibition promises a truly uplifting experience, inviting visitors to fall in love with woodland life all over again.

The Location

Nunnington Hall is located between York and Helmsley, North Yorkshire.

Enjoy the atmosphere of this beautiful Yorkshire manor house, nestled on the quiet banks of the River Rye.

Explore the period rooms whilst hearing the Hall's many tales and discover one of the world's finest collections of miniature rooms in the attic.

Famed for its picturesque location, organic walled garden with spring-flowering meadows, flamboyant resident peacocks and a changing programme of exclusive and high profile art and photography exhibitions, Nunnington Hall offers something for everyone to enjoy.

Car Park

Free parking. From the direction of Hovingham the entrance is over the Nunnington village bridge, coming from the direction of Wombleton the entrance is before the bridge. There are four electrical charge points in the main car park.

Tea-room

Tea-room is open with indoor and outdoor seating.

Dog policy

Dogs on short leads welcome in the garden, courtyards and wider estate. Assistance dogs only in the house and cafe.
