The Dysfunctional Family

Every so often, while exploring the depths of woodland, you may stumble upon a gathering of trees that are full of character and compelling interactions that tell a story. Viewers will see different scenarios when interpreting scenes like this, perhaps my view strikes you as a little negative, but an argument between the various family members is the first thing that came to mind when composing the image. I discovered these beautifully shaped trees in April 2016 and then patiently waited until December 2016 when the conditions offered the perfect balance of light, colour and mood. Storms and time had taken their toll on these ageing trees, but now the scene has disappeared almost entirely due to felling. Sometimes woodland can feel like a place where time stands still, until you realise how fragile nature is. A view you enjoyed today could be very different tomorrow. Enjoy every moment.
