About the photograph
I captured this photograph in a wonderfully peaceful corner of the Scottish Highlands while on a family holiday. Early one morning, I took my camera for a brief wander in the hope of finding calm conditions at the water’s edge. Soft light from an overcast sky revealed the delicate details and subtle colours of late autumn, while the cool mountainous backdrop was mirrored in the beautifully still, secluded loch.
I like to think that the years I have spent exploring my local woodlands have taught me to notice quieter, more intimate scenes within the grandeur and drama of the Scottish landscape. This is a place I hope to revisit again and again, watching its character and colour change with the seasons.
