About the photograph
As much as I love being immersed in the depths and complexities of a woodland, there is something equally compelling about looking out across the canopy and feeling almost as though you’re floating among the treetops.
From these elevated viewpoints, the woodland reveals itself as a richly woven tapestry, with each tree contributing its own colour, texture and character. On this particular morning, the low golden light caught the delicate crowns of the birches, lifting them from the cooler, shadowed woodland beyond and filling the scene with a fleeting sense of warmth and welcome.
