Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd November 2020 – North York Moors
Perhaps the most magical season for photographing woodland, autumn offers beautiful scenes of colour, texture and detail. Late November is a fantastic period of transition when a peppering of delicate colour still clings to the trees and an early frost or dusting of snow is more likely. We’ll immerse ourselves in the tranquillity and character of the very same fantastic woodlands that have shaped my own photography. I’d love to share my passion and experience to give you the confidence to find, explore and capture woodland with your own unique vision – leaving you prepared for the winter and seasons beyond. This workshop will help with your photography during all seasons.
With a small group of only 4 participants, we’ll have plenty of time to discuss visualising, thought process, composition and post-processing. The two days will leave you feeling inspired and enriched with a fresh perspective on photography and woodland.
I donate a tree to Meg's Grove for each workshop booking.
"The time I spent on your workshop last weekend may well prove to be one of the most profitable, rewarding and long-lasting investments I have made."
"Simon has really nailed the workshop format with a completely client focused experience."
Join me in the North York Moors where we’ll spend 2 full days deep-diving into all things woodland. Each day would typically consist of a morning shoot, breakfast, another shoot, a light lunch and then post-processing. A 3-4 course meal at the B&B on the Saturday night has been included for your convenience. The workshop will finish on the Sunday afternoon at approximately 5pm
Excludes: Insurance and travel to the accommodation.
There are a lot of folk out there that can take great photos, finding someone that can express their creative process in such a clear and effective manner is a much rarer feat, Simon has that skill! A wonderful workshop leaving me buzzing with encouragement to look through my lens in a different light.
We’ll be based at this superb country house in the south west of the national park. The location gives us a terrific location from which to explore the North York Moors and somewhere comfortable and welcoming for breakfast, post-processing and your evening meal on Saturday 21st. If you’d like to dine at the B&B on your arrival day then this can also be arranged.
Although we won’t be walking long distances, having a good level of fitness will be an advantage on this workshop. We will be walking off the beaten path, on rough terrain and through woodland foliage. The ground could be loose, boggy or steep. If you are of ill health or suffer any physical ailments, this is probably not the right workshop for you. If in doubt, please get in touch. This workshop caters for photographers of all skill levels and experience but, to get the most out of the week, you will ideally be comfortable with the technical use of your camera.
I cannot think of a better and more passionate individual than Simon who has a great personality. Anyone who is looking to go and learn more about woodland photography, you must book with Simon. You will leave with confidence and a fresh outlook on this special area of photography.
Simon's a lover of all things outdoors but has a particular affinity with woodland where he enjoys the therapy, wildlife, atmosphere and tackling the compositional challenges. You'll usually find Simon way off the beaten track with photography companion and best friend, Meg.
