Saturday 15th February – Friday 21st February
Enjoy a week of photographic indulgence in the majestic landscape of Wester Ross with its spectacular snowy mountains, ancient pinewoods, tranquil lochs and stunning coastline.
Based in a luxury house with elevated loch and sea views, we will be ideally located for exploring the grandeur of Glen Torridon, Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve and the nearby wooded slopes. The rich and diverse landscapes available to us make this a perfect place to improve your photography under the expert guidance of Simon. The marvellous scots pine and birch trees will certainly be a feature in the workshop, but we’ll also enjoy a variety of locations from the loch side to big vistas and waterfalls.
I donate a tree to Meg's Grove for each workshop booking.
"The time I spent on your workshop last weekend may well prove to be one of the most profitable, rewarding and long-lasting investments I have made."
"Simon has really nailed the workshop format with a completely client focused experience."
I want to make the whole experience simple and relaxed so that all you have to do is enjoy yourself, eat well, capture beautiful images and unwind. I’ve created a full board package that includes:
Excludes: Insurance, travel to the accommodation, other meals and snacks not specified above and drinks from the bar.
The weather in Scotland is very unpredictable but here’s a video I created during a flurry of snow in March 2018 from a Caledonian Pine Forest in Torridon.
Our base for the week is a luxury house which combines home comforts with the feel of a high-end hotel. Enjoy your own space, fabulous loch views, WiFi, open fires and boot room. With breath-taking views, this is the perfect place to relax and recharge.
Although some of the shoots will only be a short walk from the car, having a good level of fitness will be an advantage on this workshop. We may be walking for up to 1 hour from the car, off the beaten path and sometimes on uneven terrain where the ground could be loose, boggy and steep. This is very much an outdoor workshop in an environment that can be unforgiving – be prepared for sun, rain, wind, snow, ice and cold temperatures. If you are of ill health or suffer any physical ailments, this is probably not the right workshop for you. If in doubt, please get in touch.
This workshop caters for photographers of all skill levels and experience but, to get the most out of the week, you will ideally be comfortable with the technical use of your camera.
Simon's a lover of all things outdoors but has a particular affinity with woodland where he enjoys the therapy, wildlife, atmosphere and tackling the compositional challenges. You'll usually find Simon way off the beaten track with photography companion and best friend, Meg.
