There’s nothing I like more than to explore and discover locations for myself – the whole process results in a series of events and experiences that I find makes the creation of photographs so much more rewarding. However, this image was captured on my first visit to a well-known waterfall that is likely to be very busy with visitors during the warmer months. It was an impulsive early morning stop-off to stretch my legs before a long drive home from Torridon in March 2018. It turned out to me a very enjoyable, cold and peaceful woodland womble – the perfect way to end another great trip to Scotland. I love working on composition and this one is perhaps a little unconventional, but it works for me.
